2009-2012 Draft Assignment Proposal Released for Review & Comment

Nov. 15, 2008 - An unprecedented draft multi-year student assignment proposal from WCPSS Growth and Planning that fills 10 new schools with 26,771 students over the next three years was released this morning.

Assistant Superintendent Chuck Dulaney of WCPSS Growth and Planning said families have more information and have it earlier, so they can provide public input on the proposal to fill 10 new schools opening over the next three years. Dulaney said the multi-year proposal responds to public requests for information and input and was made possible thanks to improved technology and planning information provided by municipalities.

Community Engagement Meetings to get public feedback on the plan are scheduled for:

  • Dec. 3 at Wake Forest-Rolesville High, 420 W. Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC
  • Dec. 4 at Holly Springs High, 5329 Cass Holt Road, Holly Springs, NC
  • Dec. 8 at Broughton High, 723 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC

Meetings will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of each high school. You can also submit comments online.
